Dear Sarah,

Hello I want to tell you that i love your rants it's a great way to in touch with what's going on with the Bucs. I would like to know what you think of BOB HAGLUND and also is he liked by the fans. He seems to be a hard worker always giving 100%. I know he is going to Northeastern next year and they do need a lot of help. Is he the kind of player that can make a big impact for not only that team but in college hockey? One more thing do you keep records on the + - .

Thank you for your time.

I must say that the Bucs were awful. They have not been playing with much emotion lately. It seems that only a few players are showing up to play these days. But I also have to say that the Lancers were very arrogant at the end of the game. That's typical of the Lancers.

I do wish these games could have some consistency from the officiating. I believe I speak for several fans, that this leaves something to be desired.

As much as I hate to write this since we were Matt Murray's housing family here in Omaha, You must correct your recap of the game! Matt Murray was traded to Waterloo on November 10th for that pesky Torterella!! I think the second goal was Nate Maur again but I'm not positive. We enjoy your writing...We like to keep up on Matt and no one in Waterloo must know what a computer is so it's up to their opposing teams to keep us up on him in between our phone calls! I wish your recap could have been right and it was Murray! He's a great kid!

Hi Sarah,

I am an ex-player of the Buccaneers, out of Bellingham WA, from 1985-87. I captained the team during the 1986 campaign with Jim Wiley as the Head coach.

I was wondering if there is any way to get information about players, coaches, and billets. Possibly where they are now and if still some of the billits still house people. My billits were Mark and Mykle Fallis, who I believe are the leaders of the fan club.

If there is any information you can e-mail me back at sglenovich@msn.com.

Thank you,

Sarah,

I don't know if you can do anything about this, but I will say it anyway. I can not get 106.9 FM up in Ankeny where I live. I like to listen to the games, but I have to be at my sister's house in Urbandale to hear it. I can't get to all home games because work of other commitments, but I try to get to as many as I can. I'm trying to get some of my friends to go to some Buc games with me. I got them to come to the first game. I hope others try and get some of their friends and/or family members to go to a Buc's game, I know they will find it entertaining, as did my friends.

P.S. Keep up the great work.

Subj: Star's Hockey

Sarah,

I finished reading your game summary for February 28th and March 2ndLincoln-Des Moines games. Wow, it seems that I saw a much different game than you.

On the 2nd of March, I saw a Des Moines team that was toyed with by Lincoln until the third period. During the third period, Lincoln fans lifted up a complacent Stars team. After the crowd rallied the Stars, the Stars dominated Des Moines.

The game reminded me of cat playing with a mouse. For two periods Lincoln would pounce on the Bucs and then let them go and then pounce on the Bucs and let them go. In the end, all Lincoln had to do was to step it up one notch and end the game.

Sorry to give you such a hard time. On a positive note, I admit that the Buc's home page is one of the better ones in the league. I especially enjoy your rants.

To be honest, the top four teams in the USHL should be pleased with how the standing turned out. Omaha will likely win the regular season battle. Green Bay will receive an undeserved 2nd seed. Lincoln, who blew the regular season tile with a poor weekend in Green Bay and Twin Cities will get a nice third place start. Des Moines, (hard to believe) will find itself in fourth. Since Des Moines will likely play Omaha, a team that Des Moines dominate during the regular season, in the second round, Des Moines fans should be happy.

As far as Lincoln goes. I am glad that we will miss Omaha until the finals and even happier that Des Moines plays Omaha first. If the playoffs go the same way that the regular season went we should see Des Moines and Lincoln in the finals. Lincoln would have home ice and a mental edge over the Bucs.

I expect Lincoln to take care of Rochester or North Iowa and possibly struggle a little in the second round against Green Bay. Ultimately, I expect the top four teams to square off against each other.

So anyway, I will be rink side for all the Buc's-Lincoln games in Lincoln. I will be in section C Row 2 seats 1-2. Ask for me if you get a chance, I would like to get your opinion on the game.

Subj: Sunday's Rants from Lincoln

I am looking forward to hearing your rants from the game in Lincoln on Sunday. Wow, what a game. It's too bad anyone has to loose (unless its Omaha) in a game like that.

So, what do you think of the Ice Box? How about section K? I sat behind you, to the right in row 13. I know John (Jagr's Home Page) and Al (UPS MAN) from the internet. I typed in Lincoln Journal articles for a while, then got behind and missed a few weeks, then they just started showing up on John's site so I haven't been doing them lately, although there is a pretty good picture (from the paper) from Sunday's game.

Al was kind enough to point you out to me and I came down to say HI but somehow you slipped out and I missed you. I have some friends in Des Moines and I hope to make it to a game there soon.

Anyway, HI. Looking forward to your Rants from Sunday

Subj: the team

I would just like to voice my opinion on the team. I hope that this will be put on the site so everyone will see it. We have a very good team, But there are a few exceptions. I think that the only reason that Clem and Krueger are on the team is because of their parents. Krueger is not ready to play in this level, maybe in 2 years he might be good enough not now. As with Clem, look at the scores between Lincoln, Green Bay and Omaha, Platt has had a better goals against us even if we do lose. Every single shot that Scott takes he goes down on the ice. I believe that we could go for in the playoffs if Owens play Platt instead of Clem. I have been going to the Bucs games since they first started here in Des Moines. I will always be a Buc fan, but they need to stay away from putting on Des Moines native players just because of their family or name.

Plus one more thing. The players need to shoot more. They are passing it too much, trying to get the perfect shot. If they would look what Lincoln and Omaha do(that is one time the puck) we would score more. But our players stop the puck, and let the goalie set up for it. I would also like to say that I am not the only one that feels this way. I hear about this stuff from many of the fans in my section. I am just getting frustrated with the way we have been playing. We went from being in first place in the league to 4th. Come on Bucs, what happened.

Dear Sarah,

I only have one complaint. Christian von Trzcinski got the illegal equipment penalty for losing his helmet. He wasn't just trying to get off the ice. The ref was watching him the whole time and on his way to the bench von Trzcinski went out of his way to check an opponent and once he hit the other player, the ref's arm went up. Your rants are great but I thought I'd correct you.

Dear Sarah,

Just bought a home computer and am just barely learning how to use it. While you sat dejected an the Metro Ice Arena I was jumping for joy in my living room listening to my Stars throttle the top team in the league. With Lincoln being a expansion team I have tried not to set my hopes to high, but with the ownership group the Stars have and the frontoffice management and coaches it is hard not to get pumped. You see, I am also a Lancer season ticket holder and have driven 90 miles round trip per game to see the Lancers play for the last 8 years....I love the Lancers but am getting tired of the trips to Omaha Fri.,Sat., and Sundays. I've gotten to see a minor miracle take place in front of my eyes with the Lincoln Stars for I am their UPS man. I was at the press conference when the team was announced....they just happen to have the press conference during my lunch hour on my route that day. I have seen a rodeo BARN become a beautiful rink in only 6 months, I have seen a PR machine going full blast to promote HOCKEY and not Big Red football and in the last couple of days I have been seeing the finishing touches put on a FANTASTIC arena to watch hockey....wether you are a die hard Bucs fan or a full blown Stars fan. As some of us Stars fans have come to realize..."Do you believe in miracles?"

I have two suggestions for potential interview candidates. First, Crazy Larry. What is his story. Does he get in free or is paid for all of his efforts to get the crowd going? Second, Doran Doty. I know he's just a linesman but he also races sprint cars so I personally would be interested on how he got involved with two great sports.

Love your page. And I and my 4 year old son love the Bucs. Too bad about last weekend, but that's what the preseason is for... working out the bugs. My son and I were there, section 7, center.

Anyway, if it was possible, I would like to suggest a Buc team mechandise section to your page, for fans like my son and I who live out of town and can't get to see the Bucs as often as we'd like. Information on what is available (hats, jerseys, t-shirts, mugs, etc), pricing and photos if possible. As well, I don't know if the Buc shop has a catalog or deals in mail order, do you?

A final note, can you add any special promotion days to your schedule if you know of them in advance. I know that I heard that a KGGO/Pizza Hut Magnet Schedule day was coming up sometime soon. Those events would be nice to know about.

Thanks a lot. Keep up the good work.

I thouroughly enjoyed my time there and after leaving the Bucs I played at Alabama-Huntsville. I'm just a working slob now. Anyways I saw that you were making this Hall of Fame and I just want to put my two cents worth in, even though we weren't as strong as the teams the past few years we still had some terrific players and a couple of my former teammates should certainly be included. Bob Nardella and Mike Real were two of the best offensive players I ever had the opportunity to play with. They both deserve the honor.
