In-Depth Interview
February 12, 1997

Sarah: Would you prefer to be called Bob or Bobby? In the program it says Bobby, but normally you say Bob. Does it matter?

Bobby Haglund: It really doesn't matter.

Sarah: Are people in the East different from people in the Midwest?

B. Haglund: Yeah, in the midwest they're more laid back. In the East they're better people.

Sarah: What do you miss most from home?

Haglund: My friends.

Sarah: Who or what influenced you to start playing hockey?

Haglund: My cousin Bob Leardi. He's two years older than me. I always looked up to him.

Sarah: How old where you when you started?

Haglund: Five.

Sarah:
What made you decide to play for the Bucs?

Haglund:
I just figured coming here would be easier to step into college to play.

Sarah:
So have you always been a forward?

Haglund:
Yes.

Sarah:
Do you have a favorite pro or college team?

Haglund:
I like the Bruins. I don't have a favorite college team, but probably Northeastern now that I'm going there.

Sarah:
What do you like to do besides hockey?

Haglund:
Play golf.

Sarah:
Do you have a nickname?

Haglund:
Hags.

Sarah:
What would you do with a million dollars if you won it?

Haglund:
Buy tuna.

Sarah:
What are your goals for the future?

Haglund:
To graduate from college and get a degree.

Sarah:
What would the fans be surprised to know about you?

Haglund:
That me and Sean Austin drive Harley's back home together and that my cousin Bob Leardi is my biggest fan. Bob Leardi is a maniac.
