Bucs Win Anderson and Gold Cup
In his third season with the Buccaneers, head coach Scott Owens led the team to a 58-20-2 overall record, winning the Anderson Cup (Regular Season) and Gold Cup (National Jr. A) championships.

A Season of Awards
1998-99 was a season of awards as Coach Owens was awarded the USHL Coach of the Year Award.

Pete Fregoe, Noah Clarke and Peter Smrek made the All USHL first team, and all went on to play college and professional hockey. Noah also was awarded the USHL Curt Hammer Award, and Pete Fregoe picked up the USHL forward of the year.

Future Hobey Baker award winner Peter Sejna was selected for the All USHL second team as was Garrett Stafford.

Jerrid Reinholz was selected for the All USHL Rookie team.

Under the guidance of Buccaneer president Ellis Moose, the Bucs were awarded the USHL organization of the year.

College Scholarships and Pro Hockey
Nine Buccanneers (Jason Basile, Peter Capouch, Chris Dube, Jason Nightingale, Nick Parillo, Jake Searles, Erik Strand, Jeremy Vokes) received college hockey scholarships and two (Bob Revermann, Vincent Bachet) advanced directly to professional hockey. Ten Buc's returned to play for the 1998-99 squad.
